I'm Ricardo, a photographer and outfitter based in Kerrville, Texas, working across the Hill Country and anywhere a story is worth following.
Most of my time is spent in the field — tracking exotic species across Hill Country ranches, sitting in blinds waiting for an axis buck to step into the right light, or chasing horizons across Namibia, Panama, and the high country in between. Wildlife and landscape are where my work began, and they're still where it lives.
I got here the same way I approach everything else — chasing moments that mean something. Photography became my way of freezing energy, ambition, and real life as it unfolds. I keep showing up because every frame is a chance to build something that lasts — to tell an authentic story, to capture the moments that are most alive before they're gone.
Alongside the wild work, I photograph families, seniors, and headshots for clients across the Hill Country, and I work with ranches, real estate professionals, and hospitality businesses on commercial shoots that need someone who actually understands this landscape — its light, its color, its quiet hours.
More recently, I've built out an outfitting side of the business — guiding hunts, fishing trips, and expeditions for clients who want the trip and the photographic record of it from the same person. The same fieldcraft and patience that makes for good wildlife photography also makes for good guiding.
My approach is the same across all of it: show up early, stay late, and let the moment happen instead of forcing it. Whether it's a 14-point buck at first light, a family on the back porch at golden hour, or a once-in-a-lifetime trophy shot, the goal is the same — work that feels true, not staged.
I shoot on Sony Alpha bodies and prime glass, edit in a calm hand (no oversaturated skies, no plastic skin), and deliver in formats you can actually use — high-res digital files, print-ready exports.
Based in Kerrville/Ingram. Serving Fredericksburg, Boerne, Bandera, Leakey, Vanderpool, and the broader Hill Country within roughly a 50-mile radius. Travel for the right project — domestic, international, or anywhere a real story is worth telling.
